4-H District Roundups Set for June

AUBURN, May 17---4-H district roundups are just around the corner. Six 4-H district roundups are scheduled for June at various locations in the state.

The first 4-H district roundup is the Huntsville/Tri-Cities Roundup set for June 12 at Alabama A&M University in Normal. Counties involved include Cherokee, Colbert, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan.

Other roundups are scheduled as follows:

June 14 -- Mobile District Roundup at Evergreen High School, in Evergreen. Counties included are Autauga, Baldwin, Butler, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Lowndes, Mobile, Monroe, Washington, and Wilcox.

June 14-15 -- Dothan District Roundup at Troy State University in Troy. Counties included are Barbour, Bullock, Montgomery, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston and Pike.

June 19 -- Tuscaloosa District Roundup at Judson College in Marion. Counties included are Bibb, Chilton, Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter and Tuscaloosa.

June 20 -- Anniston District Roundup at the Anniston Meeting Center. Counties included are Calhoun, Chambers, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Russell, Talladega and Tallapoosa.

June 22 -- Birmingham District Roundup at Cullman High School in Cullman. Counties included are Blount, Cullman, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, Shelby, St. Clair, Walker and Winston.

Competitive events at each roundup may include automotive driving, chicken-que, electric demonstration, fashion revue, dairy foods demonstration, breads exhibit, egg demonstration, beef cookoff, plant and soil science exhibit, informative and persuasive public speaking, bicycle safety, lawn tractor driving, tractor driving, photography exhibit, and wood science demonstration and exhibit.

District first- and second-place winners in all senior events are eligible to compete on the state level, July 19, at the 4-H Center in Columbiana.
