The Field Day, a preview to the 25th annual 2002
Sunbelt Expo to be held in October, is open to farmers, media and
other visitors. Participants will have opportunities to talk
one-on-one with seed and chemical company representatives and
university researchers.
They will also get a sneak peek at the crops that
will be harvested and tilled during the Sunbelt Expo this fall,
including more than 140 varieties of corn, cotton, peanuts, soybeans
and grain sorghum.
New to the Field Day this year will be a nine-acre
forest and wildlife management demonstration field showing how
forest, wildlife and herbicides can be effectively integrated into a
successful management program.
The latest breakthroughs in irrigation technology
will also be featured.
The event, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2
p.m., is free and includes a complimentary lunch.
