Agricultural Outlook Forum Is Feb. 21-22 in Arlington
Washington, Jan.
16---The USDA will hold its 78th Annual Agricultural Outlook
Forum, Feb. 21-22 at the Crystal
Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington.
The forum will feature
top government and industry speakers discussing issues shaping the
outlook for agriculture and an in-depth analysis of the farm and
commodity outlook for the year ahead. The agenda includes ample time
for networking with attendees from all facets of U.S. and world
agriculture and the food and fiber industry. More than 1,300 persons
attended last February's forum.
Attendees will hear the
latest news on issues including new farm legislation, biotech crops
in world trade, biosecurity, tracking crop and product identity from
farm to consumer, competing in global markets for processed
products, and climate and agriculture.
Rural innovators will
report on developments in bioenergy, contract bargaining
associations, rural women leaders in community development and much
more.
The Outlook Forum is an
excellent value. Full registration, including meals is $225, if paid
by Jan. 28. Anyone interested in attending can register online at
http://www.usda.gov/oce/waob/agforum.htm, or register by phone at
(202) 314-3451.
The first forum was in
1923 to help farmers make informed planting decisions. These annual
forums are a great source of timely information on agriculture's
front-burner issues as well as the farm and commodity outlook.
CSREES is sponsoring sessions this year on rural development,
value-added marketing, and farm women as leaders in rural
prosperity.
