WILLIAM HOSKING RETIRES FROM EXTENSION
AFTER 21 YEARS OF SERVICE
Auburn, March 29---Dr. William Hosking, Extension System marine economist and marine programs coordinator, department of fisheries and allied aquaculture at Auburn University, will retire March 31.

A graduate of the University of Georgia, Hosking completed his bachelor's degree in forest resource management, his master's degree in agricultural economics and his doctorate in agricultural economics.

Currently stationed at the Auburn Marine Extension and Research Center in Mobile, Hosking has been employed with Extension for 21 years and 6 months.

"For 22 years Auburn University has reached out to the citizens of our coastal counties with strong programs in Extension education and research because of the leadership Dr. Hosking provided as director of the Auburn University Marine Extension and Research Center and our sea-grant program," says Dr. John Jensen, chairman of the department of fisheries and allied aquaculture at Auburn University.

" We're going to miss Dr. Hosking but the legacy he's left for us is the broad-based dynamic marine program that he built and that we will be able to build upon," Jensen added.

Hosking and 33 other Extension retirees will be honored March 31 at 3:30 p.m. during a special ceremony held at the Auburn University Conference Center Ballroom on the Auburn campus.
