EXTENSION WEBSITES RECEIVE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS

AUBURN, JULY 30---Extension Communications' NEWSLINE and AG-HOME NEWS links on the Extension website (www.aces.edu) have been selected as two of the best educational resources on the web by StudyWeb. The two sites received StudyWeb Academic Excellence Awards in July.

NEWSLINE and AG-HOME NEWS are written and produced by Extension Communications mass media staff -- Donna Reynolds, Maggie Lawrence and Jim Langcuster. The sites include news releases, feature stories, pictures, an agricultural calendar of events and other educational information.

"NEWSLINE was set up for use by media outlets and AG-HOME NEWS was designed to help county agents with information for weekly columns and radio shows. The sites are obviously being used by other people as well.

"The World Wide Web has revolutionized the way we reach clientele, says Jim Langcuster, an Extension communications specialist who uploads the material to the site each week. We're committed to making Extension news and information even more accessible." Both sites will undergo significant changes in the coming months.
