EXTENSION OFFERS 15th INTENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TRAINING COURSE

AUBURN, APRIL 21, 2000---The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is offering the 15th Intensive Economic
Development Training Course this summer and fall on the Auburn University campus. The course is divided into two sessions -- the first session is July 31 through August 2 and the second session is Sept. 18-22.

A $300 registration fee covers both sessions of the course. Fifty participants can be enrolled, and they must attend both sessions to receive a certificate for the course.

The training introduces participants to all phases of industrial development. Program leaders are experienced in economic development techniques, bond financing, venture capital, taxation and Industrial Development Board functions.

Chamber of Commerce executives, administrative assistants with industrial development responsibilities, economic development professionals, city and county elected or appointed officials, and others interested in furthering economic development in Alabama, will find the course especially valuable and will benefit from the instruction.

The training course is sponsored by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the Auburn University Economic Development Institute, Alabama Electric Cooperative, Alabama Gas Company, Alabama Power Company and BELLSOUTH.

For more information or application forms, check with your county Extension office.
