The Auburn University Marine Extension and Research Center (AUMERC), located in Mobile, Alabama on the shores of Mobile Bay and a short distance from the Gulf of Mexico, is part of the Auburn University Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures. The Marine Center combines research programs of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station and extension programs of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium to help ensure that Alabama's marine resources remain renewable.

AUMERC is actively involved with local governments, agencies, schools and organizations for whom we provide unbiased information to assist citizens and decision-makers when making choices about the future of coastal resources.
