Oats are Economical and Good for Your Health

America is tightening its belt. Oats are an economical whole-grain that can help with that belt tightening. Besides being economical, oats have health benefits.
Oat products have high soluble fiber content, which aids digestion. Oats reduce cholesterol levels, which makes them good for heart health and they are high in protein. To obtain the heart benefits of oats, the product must contain at least three grams of soluble fiber. It is the soluble fiber beta glucan in oats that scientists attribute the cholesterol-lowering benefits.

Oats can be purchased in several forms; the most common forms purchased are rolled oats, instant oats and products with oat bran.
