Making Summer Camp Plans


Summer is fast approaching, and many parents are making plans to fill their children’s days. Summer camp is a popular choice. Parents from across the state will soon be able to enroll their children in summer camp sessions at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana. Open enrollment begins Feb. 22. canoe1.gif


The 4-H Summer Camp program offers young people 9 and older a variety of activities during a three-day, two-night session. Activities include archery, canoeing, hiking, wildlife programs and arts and crafts. Tuition for camp is $85 and includes lodging and meals. There are six camp sessions this year.

2008 Camp Sessions
Session 1, June 2-4
Session 2, June 4-6
Session 3, June 9-11
Session 4, June 11-13
Session 5, June 16-18
Session 6, June 18-20

Enrollment extends from Feb. 22 through May 16. For more information on summer camp at the Alabama 4-H Center, visit www.alabama4hcenter.org. County Extension offices can also provide information on 4-H Summer Camp.
