4-H Day Slated for U.S. Space and Rocket Center
The U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville will welcome 4-H’ers from across Alabama for 4-H Space Day Saturday, March 3.
Members of Alabama 4-H, the youth development arm of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, will enjoy a special package of activities including museum admission, an IMAX movie, lunch, public simulators and Outpost in Space presentations.
Cost for 4-H Space Day at the USSRC is $15. For more information, contact your county Extension office.
Dr. Tony Cook, an Extension 4-H youth development specialist, says young people can also participate in the 4-H Aerospace Challenge that day.
“The Challenge will have a number of special activities,” says Cook. “We will have a rocket launch event, rocketry showcase, design challenges and space exploration exhibits.”
Cook says preregistration by Feb. 16 is required for all events. Some activities are limited on the number of participants allowed so register early. For more information on the 4-H Aerospace Challenge, contact Cook at (334) 844-2233 or at cookja1@auburn.edu.
