4-H Archery Training

Shooting sports enthusiasts are you interested in sharing your sport with young people? An archery training workshop for adult volunteers interested in working with the 4-H Shooting Sports program is planned for Oct. 21 and 22 in Huntsville. The training will be held at Carlton Cove Retirement Community as well as Custom Archery Center.

The workshop will provide adults interested in working with 4-H archery programs with safe and proper instruction techniques. Volunteer leaders will learn how to plan and manage a local 4-H club; ways to promote the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship and ethical behavior among volunteers and youth; and ways to enhance existing hunter education and 4-H Shooting Sports program training.

All participants will receive information on 4-H youth development, risk management, and training in safety and teaching methodology. Participants will also get a chance to practice teach their discipline to others.
Training will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Carlton Cove Retirement Community, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Custom Archery Center. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be served on Saturday.
Registration is $10.
