Looking for Top Tomatoes

So the old song goes,

The Best Tasting Tomato competition is only open to licensed commercial growers who operate in Alabama. All tomatoes entered also must be grown in the state of Alabama. Tomatoes will be judged on ripeness, flavor, texture and overall quality. A grand prize of $2,500 and four regional prizes of $250 each will be awarded.

Only one variety per grower will be allowed entry in the competition, and the variety should be a large-fruited type weighing at least 5 ounces. No cherry tomato varieties will be allowed to enter. No frozen, green, or canned tomatoes are eligible; only vine-ripened tomatoes will qualify for judging.

Growers must provide five pounds of their variety to have enough for sampling. The samples must be boxed and copies of the grower
