Seminar on Forestland Recovery Scheduled Feb. 17
A program aimed at helping landowners gain a better understanding of management options for forests damaged by Hurricane Ivan will be held Feb. 17 at the Ag-Science Center Building in Brewton.
Registration will begin a 4:00 p.m., following a prefunction field trip to the Hooper Matthews property.
Later that evening, Hooper Matthews will provide his own personal account of landowner salvage following Ivan, followed by an assessment of the situation in Florida and Alabama.
David Helm, chairman of the Alabama Forest Recovery Task Force, also will discuss salvage impacts on mill operations.
