Alabama Pork Conference Set For October 15

The Alabama Pork Conference will be held Oct. 15 at Auburn University. The one-day conference will highlight pork checkoff programs, marketing opportunities and pork research.

The conference, sponsored by Alabama Pork Producers, Auburn University’s Department of Animal Sciences and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, will be held at the Beef Teaching Unit off Shug Jordan Parkway.

Extension animal scientist Dr. Frank Owsley says the program covers a variety of topics including forage quality and enhancing demand for pork.

“Producers will also have a chance to hear about a number of new and different marketing options,” said Owsley. “Helping farmers identify ways to improve their bottom line is always important.”
