Extension’s Ruth Brock Receives Award from City of Birmingham

Alabama Cooperative Extension System Regional Agent Ruth Brock was awarded the August 2008 Programs that Work Award by the City of Birmingham Mayor's Office-Division of Youth Services. Brock received the award for her presentation of Extension’s Reality Check program.

Reality Check is a financial program for youth that simulates the financial responsibilities of adults. Brock facilitated the program for youth from Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford’s Kids and Jobs summer program. A taping of the award presentation will air on DYS’ Spotlight on Youth TV show on Bright House Networks in September.
