Expert Offers Advice on Reducing Colorectal Cancer Risks

The news about colorectal cancer keeps getting better, at least from the standpoint of what we should be doing to prevent the disease.

Based on a series of recent studies, researchers are advising us to consume more blueberries, vitamin D and calcium and less meat, especially red and processed meat.

However, the news about fiber is not so good. Once considered a mainstay in the fight against colon cancer, fiber’s standing isn’t as impressive as it once was, research is showing.

In this streamed interview , Dr. Robert Keith, an Alabama Cooperative Extension System nutrition and health specialist and Auburn University professor of nutrition and food science, discusses these new findings and some of the creative things we can do to incorporate more of these foods into our diets.
