Webcam Setup

Follow the manufacturer’s setup instructions that came with your webcam. You DO NOT need to disable Virus Checking programs to install the webcam.

Where to plug the webcam in.

Notebooks: Plug the webcam into a USB port that is ON the notebook. Do not plug it in to a USB port that may be on a docking station, Port replicator, or USB hub. It will probably not work correctly.

Desktops: Plug the webcam into a USB port that is on the BACK of the computer. Do not plug it into a USB port on the front of the computer or into a USB hub.

The webcam below is a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX. It is representative of a typical webcam.
