Webcam Placement
 
Follow the manufacturer’s setup instructions that came with your webcam. You DO NOT need to disable Virus Checking
programs to install the webcam.
 
Where to place the webcam
 
The webcam should be placed in somewhere in front of your face. This is done so that you give the impression of
looking at person/event the far site when you are watching/participating in an event. Most wecams are designed to
be placed on the top of your computer monitor. Do not place webcams off to the side of your workspace, or where
they are obstructed by other items at your location. You may like your profile, or the close-up of the title of
your latest book, but it does not look good on camera, and is improper videoconferencing netiquette. As Norma
Desmond said "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up". So are you!
