Understand Relationships between Database, Table, Query, and Report
- A database is for storing information. In the Addresses example, you will store the same type information in a database that you would store manually in a Rolodex or other filing system.
- Think of the database as the shell that holds together all the other related objects. The most common type of object in an Access database is a table. You use a table to store data and organize it into a usable structure. Other database objects are queries and reports. A query allows you to filter data in a table. A report allows you to print the data in a nice readable format.
