Understand Relationships between Database, Table, Query, and Report

A database is for storing information. In the Addresses example, you will store the same type information in a database that you would store manually in a Rolodex or other filing system.
Think of the database as the shell that holds together all the other related objects. The most common type of object in an Access database is a table. You use a table to store data and organize it into a usable structure. Other database objects are queries and reports. A query allows you to filter data in a table. A report allows you to print the data in a nice readable format.
