A Quick E-Mail lesson. ----------------------------- Have you ever gotten a message back from "Mailer-Daeman" saying your mail was returned? This could be because one of the addresses in the list you sent mail TO: was invalid. It could be a typo or it could be that the user's account has been removed but that user is still in a network mail list (such as "cagents", for example). There is bound to be a bunch of computer jibberish included in the returned mail, but do not fret. There will almost always be an easily readable line notifying you of an unknown user. In the example below the line is Mail error was: 550 ... User unknown While the "550" won't mean anything to the average user, the rest of the line means everything. It states that "greg@acenet.auburn.edu" is an unknown user. Interpreting messages generated by a computer is much like interpreting a legal document -- read the words you can understand (like "Error", "Warning", "Aborted", ...) and skip the others, especially numbers like 550 or X-Sun-Charset: US-ASCII!
