  1. Workforce Development
    • Assists communities with efforts to initiate workforce development initiatives or workforce development components of other community programs, including the identification of the status of the current workforce and its needs
    • Designs programs to build a quality workforce for businesses, industries, and community organizations
    • School to Career—provides support to schools and businesses as they work together to provide career paths for young people preparing to enter the workforce
  2. Asset Mapping
    • Helps communities build strong relationships among community individuals, associations, institutions and businesses
    • Facilitates community sessions to identify assets of individuals, associations, institutions and businesses
    • Assists communities with mapping local assets for the purpose of economic and workforce development
    • Provides communities with assistance as they mobilize for collective action to build on their assets
  3. Partnership Development
    • Coalition Building—Helps organizations and communities to identify key stakeholders and to work cooperatively to identify and solve problems for a better future for communities
    • Problem Solving, Planning, and Organizational Skills—helps individual communities, companies, and organizations solve problems, get organized and get going
    • Directs or assists in implementation of projects to improve community resources and infrastructure, especially projects concerned with creation, modification, transition or development of community resources
    • Train-the-Trainer—supports companies, communities and organizations efforts to begin training programs or to optimize the effectiveness of existing training and educational programs
  4. Educational and Curriculum Design
    • Provides professional expertise in the design and development of effective teaching tools and environments appropriate to the targeted audience and desired outcomes
    • Identifies and evaluates curriculum, teaching materials
  5. Community and Economic Development
    • Assists in the growth, improvement and revitalization of communities
    • Provides support in strategic planning, implementation and maintenance of efforts, and evaluation
    • Furnishes guidance, assistance and support in the grant writing process
