  • Warm-season perennial weed.
  • Spreads by slender, creeping stems that root at the nodes.
  • Kidney-shaped leaves grow opposite each other along horizontal thin stems.
  • Small, green, and inconspicuous flowers are produced along the stem.
  • Thrives in moist soils but cannot tolerate freezing temperatures.
  • Reproduces by seed and stolons.

  • Hand Removal or Hoeing
  • Herbicides:
    • Preemergence - NONE
     
    • Postemergence - atrazine* or combination of these products:
        • [dicamba**,  MCPP**,  2,4-D**, and/or  2,4-DP**

    *   Excellent tolerance in centipede and St. Augustine grass. 

    **  Use lower rates on centipede and St. Augustine grass. 
           Do not use within the root zone of desirable plants, especially dicamba
