- Perennial weed.
- Also commonly refered to as "snake strawberry."
- Low-growing with long stolons.
- Leaves have three leaflets and toothed margins.
- Single flowers on long petioles with five yellow petals.
- Has red fruit that is spongy, round, and "strawberry-like."
- Fruit is not poisonous but not palatable.
- Reproduces by seed and stolons.
- Commonly found in shaded areas.
Control Methods
- Hand Removal or Hoeing
- Herbicides:
- Postemergence - combination of these products:
[dicamba*, 2,4-D*, and/or 2,4-DP*]
* Use lower rates on centipede and St. Augustine grass.
Do not use within the root zone of desirable plants, especially dicamba.
