Mock
Strawberry

  • Perennial weed.
  • Also commonly refered to as "snake strawberry." 
  • Low-growing with long stolons.
  • Leaves have three leaflets and toothed margins.
  • Single flowers on long petioles with five yellow petals.
  • Has red fruit that is spongy, round, and "strawberry-like."
  • Fruit is not poisonous but not palatable.
  • Reproduces by seed and stolons.
  • Commonly found in shaded areas.
Control Methods
  • Hand Removal or Hoeing
  • Herbicides:
    • Preemergence - NONE
       
       
    • Postemergence - combination of these products:
          • [dicamba*,  2,4-D*, and/or  2,4-DP*]
             
    * Use lower rates on centipede and St. Augustine grass. 
        Do not use within the root zone of desirable plants, especially dicamba.
      Always Read the Label 

Single yellow flowers with 5 petals.


Red "strawberry-like" fruit.
