RESPONSIBILITIES

Gladys conducts nutrition education classes for Tallapoosa County. Her major responsibility is to reach and teach low-income residents the importance of eating nutritionally sound diets. 

She teaches 3 programs:

  • 4-H Dot (Diet's Our Thing) Program to children 6-19 years
  • Food $mart Program to adults that are responsible for making meals for children
  • Today's Mom Program to pregnant women or women with babies up to a year old.

     

BACKGROUND AND TRAINING

Gladys is a 1980 graduate of Benjamin Russell High School. She attended Alexander City Junior College and graduated from Auburn University in 1986 with a B.S. in Nutrition and Foods.

Gladys joined the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and the Tallapoosa County Staff in June 2005.
 

PERSONAL

Gladys resides in Alexander City with her son, Michael.
