4-H Plant & Soil Science Exhibit


OBJECTIVES

  1. To give 4-H’ers an opportunity to explore the world of plants and soils or (for Seniors) to expand their knowledge of plants and soils in the areas of:

      1. plant reproduction
      2. soils and soil fertility
      3. plant growth
      4. plant characteristics
      5. growing and using plants
      6. soils and plants in the environment

  2. To help 4-H’ers learn about agriculture as a science upon which all industrial developments are built.
  3. To expose 4-H’ers to career opportunities in the science of agriculture.
  4. To teach 4-H’ers how to plan and prepare exhibits.
     

    WHO MAY PARTICIPATE

  • Any Tallapoosa County Junior or Senior 4-H’er.

    RULES

  1. Exhibit should be prepared entirely by the 4-H member.
  2. Exhibit should be of a size such that it fits entirely on a 3’X 6’ table. Tables will be provided.
  3. Exhibit should be strictly visual – no audio.
  4. The 4-H’er should be present beside the exhibit during judging to explain what he/she did and to answer questions asked by the judges.
  5. Record books are not required but each exhibitor should either complete an "Information Sheet for 4-H Plant & Soil Science Exhibit" which will be provided or provide the same information in a report accompanying the exhibit.
