OBJECTIVES
-
To give 4-H’ers an opportunity to explore the world of plants and soils
or (for Seniors) to expand their knowledge of plants and soils in the areas
of:
-
plant reproduction
-
soils and soil fertility
-
plant growth
-
plant characteristics
-
growing and using plants
-
soils and plants in the environment
-
To help 4-H’ers learn about agriculture as a science upon which all industrial
developments are built.
-
To expose 4-H’ers to career opportunities in the science of agriculture.
-
To teach 4-H’ers how to plan and prepare exhibits.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE
-
Any Tallapoosa County Junior or Senior 4-H’er.
RULES
-
Exhibit should be prepared entirely by the 4-H member.
-
Exhibit should be of a size such that it fits entirely on a 3’X 6’ table.
Tables will be provided.

Exhibit should be strictly visual – no audio.
-
The 4-H’er should be present beside the exhibit during judging to explain
what he/she did and to answer questions asked by the judges.
-
Record books are not required but each exhibitor should either complete
an "Information Sheet for 4-H Plant & Soil Science Exhibit" which will
be provided or provide the same information in a report accompanying the
exhibit.
