Watering Lawns

I hope that by the time this article is in print, it will not be needed. I would say all lawns are showing signs of needing water. Proper application of this water will make it more efficient.

The best time to water is from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Watering at this time reduces the evaporations and also limits the time the grass blades will be wet.

Most soils require an inch of water a week. It is best to put this inch of water on at one time. I am of the opinion that it is better not to water than to just sprinkle a little every day.

This should help you be more efficient when you are watering your lawn.
