Anytime you are in town, stop by the offices of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and ask for an application to be a Master Gardener. Here are the locations in Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties. While you are there ask about the many other programs they offer for your family, your home, and your farm.

The Limestone County Extension Office is located at the intersection of Market Street and Hine Street, across from the Post Office. When coming in from the north or west sides of the county use Highway 99 or Hine Street and make a right turn into the parking lot. From the east or south, turn west onto Market Street at the northwest corner of the Courthouse Square. After passing the Athens-Limestone Hospital on the right, make a left turn into the parking lot.

The Madison County Extension Office is a block off Memorial Parkway just a north of the University Drive overpass. It is directly across Cook Avenue from the Farmer's Market. If you're coming southbound on the Parkway, exit to the access road at Oakwood Avenue. Then make a U-turn under the University Drive overpass and get in the right lane to turn right onto Cook Avenue. If you are Northbound on the Parkway, exit at the University Drive exit. Cross University Drive and turn right onto Cook Avenue. If you're coming in from the east or west, turn north onto the northbound Parkway access road and then turn right onto Cook Avenue.

Directions to the Hartselle Office: From I-65 take the 328 Exit (Hartselle/Somerville Exit). Turn west on Alabama HWY 36. Travel west to HWY 31, stay on HWY 36 approximately 5 miles, just past Bible Baptist Church on left. There is a large U.S. flag in front of the building. We are located in Suite B of the USDA Service Center. From HWY 157, turn east. Our office is just past the 17 mile marker on the right.
Directions to the Urban (Decatur) Office: From I-65 take Exit 334 (Decatur/Priceville Exit) and turn west onto HWY 67. Go Approximately 4 miles, turn right onto HWY 31 N. Continue approximately 2 miles to the intersection of 6th Avenue (HWY 31) and 14th Street, turn left onto 14th Street. Travel 1/2 mile over the Overpass Bridge (Albert P. Brewer Bridge) and turn right at the light to Central Parkway. Take the first right to the Public Works Compound. Our office is the next to last building on the left.
