The Franklin County Farmer's Market is an organization funded to achieve the following goals to the people of Franklin County and its surrounding areas:
- To promote Alabama grown farm products.
- To improve the variety of freshness, taste and nutritional value of produce available in the Franklin County area.
- To make healthy and nutritious produce available in the Franklin County area to all residents.
- To provide educational information to consumers to learn the uses and benefits of quality and locally grown produce and healthy living.
- To enhance the quality of life in the Franklin County areas by providing a community activity which fosters social gathering and interaction.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH
Cabbage and Cheese Casserole
1 medium cabbage, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
1 stick butter
1/2 cup flour
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
Directions: boil cabbage with onion, salt and pepper, using just enough water to cover, until cabbage is tender. Drain, saving the water. Set aside. Melt butter. Add flour and gradually add the saved water. Cook and stir until thick. Pour over cabbage in a casserole dish. Top with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
