Piedmont 3rd Graders participated in their annual cabbage contest. The students received their cabbages in February, and were responsible for their planting and care. They brought them in to be weighed on May 18th. The winning cabbage topped 7.5lbs. Winners received a cash price as well as a ribbon:

1st Place - Chloe Mobley
2nd Place - Chase Aderholt
3rd Place - Jacob Ford

The contest is sponsored by Calhoun County 4H, Calhoun County Master Gardeners, Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Piedmont Elementary School.
