4-H Joins Alabama Gives Day to Support Non-Profits

When: February 2, 2012

Alabama 4-H, the state’s largest youth development organization, is joining other nonprofits in the state for the first, massive, one-day online giving opportunity on Thursday, Feb. 2.

The Alabama Association of Nonprofits, in partnership with the Alabama Broadcasters Association, is taking one day to harness the power of individual contributions statewide. Supported by the Razoo Foundation, the Alabama Press Association, Alabama Giving, Intermark Group and hundreds of nonprofits in our state, Alabama Gives Day aims to make history by connecting new and existing donors with hundreds of Alabama nonprofits in just 24 hours.

West Alabama Hay School

When: Thursday, February 16, 2012

Where: Tuscaloosa County Extension Office

Time: 8:30AM-4:00PM

Fee: $30.00

The West Alabama Hay School is a comprehensive outlook on hay production. The presentations from Auburn University specialist and Extension Regional Extension Agent will include: Economics, Fertilization, Nutrition, Weed Control, Management tips for Horse and beef producers and introduction to High Moisture Hay Production.

Governmental Meetings

Bibb County Commission meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 9:00AM at the County Commission Chamber inside the Rock Building.

Centreville City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:00PM.

Brent City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 5:00 PM at Brent City Hall.

West Blocton City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00PM.

Woodstock City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00PM.

Meetings of Bibb County Organizations

Bibb County Chamber of Commerce holds regular monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00PM at the Chamber Building.

Bibb County Economic/Industrial Development Board meets the second Monday of each month at noon at the Twix ‘n’ Tween.

Friends of the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge meets the first Monday of each month at 5:30PM at the West Blocton Municipal Building.

Centreville Historic Preservation Commission meets the first Thursday of each month at 5:00PM at the Centreville Presbyterian Church. The public is invited.
