Farm City Week Essay and Poster Contest

Paige McCord,a student at Autauga Academy, exhibits her cash award for winning the Farm City Week Poster Contest. Dolly Williams, Paige's teacher, also received a cash award for encouraging her students to participate in the contest.

Alexis Kelley, a student at East Memorial Christian Academy, and her teacher, Mrs. Payton, are proud to display their cash awards. Alexis was a first place winner in the Farm City Week Poster Contest.

Kayln Chiglo and Elizabeth Forman, eighth graders at Prattville Junior High School, were recognized for winning the Farm City Week Essay Contest. Kayln, the first place winner, and Elizabeth were encouraged to participate in the contest by their teacher, Mrs. Libby Bruce. The students and their teacher received cash prizes for their accomplishments.

Friends of the Forest
May 5 - 9, 2008
More than 600 fifth-grade students from across Autauga County
enjoyed a learning experience the week of May 5th through May 9th at
the farm of Martha and Jimmy Hughes, just outside of Autaugaville, AL.
Friends of the Forest is an educational program designed to teach the importance
private forest landowners, regarding the multiple-use management of our
forest natural resources.
