RESPONSIBILITIES

Sue conducts nutrition educational programs for Tallapoosa and Coosa Counties. Her major responsibilities include:
  • Nutrition Education Program - Nutrition education for school youth (K-12) and adults.

BACKGROUND AND TRAINING

Sue is a 1965 graduate of Benjamin Russell High School.  She graduated from Auburn University in 1971 with B.S. in Clothing, Textiles, and related Art; B.S. in Home Economics Education; Elementary Education Certification.  She also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City (Fashion Design, Pattern making and Draping, Sweater Design, and Fashion Merchandizing).

Sue taught 4th and 5th grade Science at Hannah Mallory in Coosa County and was a Teacher of the Title I Program grades at 1-6 Kellyton School.  She also worked as a Designer-Merchandiser in New York City for Russell Corporation. After Russell she was also a Designer-Merchandise for several clothing and jewelry companies in New York City.

Sue joined the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and the Tallapoosa County Extension staff in December 1999.

PERSONAL

Sue resides on Lake Martin in Equality with husband Larry Best.
