“4-H is even more important today than it used to be. There are more things for young people to be involved in today than I had growing up, but I’m not sure those things teach the values and character that 4-H teaches. That’s why 4-H is important today. Young people want a sense of belonging and that’s what 4-H gives them.”

“I’ve been blessed. There is no greater joy, no greater satisfaction than in seeing the influence of 4-H on Alabama’s young people… in watching them grow and develop into outstanding men and women, now in successful careers, anchored in life by skills, values and principles learned in 4-H.”
