Ensuring that 4-H remains relevant requires intense effort. Change is constant in every venue where children and youth are raised and nurtured, so our 4-H leaders must continually update and refine youth development program opportunities. Alabama 4-H leaders in all 67 counties have identified the greatest opportunities to better serve their youngsters.

The top needs are:

I. Capital, Equipment & General Operating Funds, $440,000
II. Awards, Recognition & Scholarships, $630,000
III. Volunteer Recruitment & Training, $380,000
I V. Program Enhancement, $550,000

These top four needs embody the 4-H emblem, the 4-leaf clover.
The H’s on the leaf represent the whole person—Head, Heart,
Hands and Health—and symbolize growth and youth.
