Drone Discovery

4-H Drone Discovery Project Web Banner

A drone is an unmanned aircraft that can fly by itself – autonomously or without direct human control. Drones are often called unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). A drone is essentially a flying robot! They can be controlled by software embedded in their onboard systems. They often interact with onboard sensors and GPS (geographic positioning system).

In Alabama 4-H, young people can learn about drone technology, safe operation, and how they can be used. In Drone Discovery, young people can begin to learn about drone technology first hand. Drone Discovery is a club and activity guide for learning about and flying drones in 4-H.
